Woven in Istanbul, Kum Kapi rugs represent one of the most technically ambitious traditions of late-Ottoman and early-Turkish workshop production. The design revisits the bold medallions, angular ornament, and strongly defined borders associated with early Anatolian carpets, translating them through a more refined workshop technique.
