Fireplace accessory (2) - 19th‑Century Brass Andirons –...

Two pairs of antique fireplace grates, made of solid brass and wrought iron, with a classic French-inspired design. Each piece features a turned brass finial, with soft, balanced lines, accompanied by a base with ornamental scrolls, vegetal details, Fleur-de-Lis with pinnacles, motifs typical of 19th–early 20th century craftsmanship. The rear structure, in iron, retains its original function: to elevate and support the logs to improve flame ventilation. They retain an authentic patina, with the warm sheen of aged brass and the iron in its original dark tone, which enhances their historical character. Approximate measurements • Height: 20 cm • Length of the iron bar: 38 cm • Width of the decorative base: 14 cm. Ideal for • Interior decoration with a classical or rustic aesthetic • Restoration of antique fireplaces • Collectors of historic metalwork • Set design, photography, or ambiance. Kept metals: their patina can be polished to a bright shine very practically and manageable. This pair of Morillos is not new, over 120 years old, handmade with their own finishes; the pinnacles have inclinations and irregularities typical of their age and use.
