[First Edition] Jericho: The South Beheld Shuptrine

A "unique, mysterious, & beautiful book [in which] two Southerners turn their talents on their land & their people." Shuptrine's paintings & Dickey's poetry both complement each other & stand alone throughout the 165 pages, with an Introduction by Dickey. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1974, this huge oblong hardcover (12.75" x 16.25") has cream-colored cloth over quarter burgundy cloth-covered boards, blindstamped image of a man rowing to front cover & bright silver lettering to spine. Front shows significant rust-colored staining/foxing to upper edges. The interior is very clean, with only mild tanning. Pages creamy white & unmarked save for old erased pencil price in front. The price-clipped DJ is just Good: largely intact, but with many chips, short unclosed tears, & rubbing to extremities; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free! Bonus: a separate 11' X 15" print by Shuptrine is laid in, & is flawless--ready for framing! Our photos depict the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have!
