FOUCAULT (Annick). — Françoise Maîtresse. Paris, Digraphe, 1994. In-8, paperback, color-illustrated photographic cover. First edition of this memoir by Annick Foucault, with a preface by Pierre Bourgeade. An autobiographical account exploring the world of Parisian sadomasochism, in which the author recounts her experience as a dominatrix under the name Françoise. A firsthand account of the practices, fantasies, and power dynamics within French BDSM circles in the early 1990s. The particularly evocative cover features a photograph by Wilfrid Moulin. Published by Digraphe, a literary press and journal founded around Jean Ristat, with a preface by Pierre Bourgeade, a writer whose work is largely devoted to eroticism. ISBN 2-07-073834-5. List price: 82 F. Very good copy, with a few very slight signs of handling on the cover.
