Fr. 118. 1901 $10 Legal Tender Note. PMG Choice About Uncirculated 58. The Napier - McClung signature combination holds the distinction of being the third rarest Friedberg Number for this iconic design in terms of overall survivors. Track & Prices records a total of 268 pieces (and four Replacements) while the PMG Population Reports accounts for a population that is largely composed of evenly circulated specimens. Even though the faintest trace of technical circulation may be observed under close examination, one may also observe sharp embossing and excellent color and lifelike detail brought to form by the vignette Progress and the forward-facing bison engraved by M.S. Baldwin which he adapted from a sketch first drawn by Charles Knight who is best known for his depictions of prehistoric animals. Held together with the grade assigned, this is a truly a remarkable example of this iconic design bound to become part of a terrific collection composed by discerning hands. Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.
