Fr. 1506. 1928E $2 Legal Tender Note. PCGS Banknote Superb Gem Uncirculated

Fr. 1506. 1928E $2 Legal Tender Note. PCGS Banknote Superb Gem Uncirculated 68 PPQ. Already representative of a short-lived signature combination current between 1945 and 1946. This $2 Legal Tender Note issued under the Series of 1928E is more than just a scarce item, but also a noted conditional rarity by virtue of the grade assigned. Burdened with a numerical grade of "68" along with the requisite PPQ designation for "Premium Paper Quality" applied by PCGS Banknote, bidders are met here with a sight that defies easy description in both technical and visual terms. From a bold crimson shade of red that accomplishes the overprint to knife-like margins and sharp corners, it takes little to reason or understand that this note is indeed exceptional. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Ollis G. Hull Small Size $2 Collection. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
