France 1862/1870 - France 1862–1870 – Napoleon III – 40...

Specialized collection of 40 classic French stamps of Napoléon III, with both non-lauré and lauréé issues. An interesting set for the study of French railway and ambulant postmarks from the 19th century. Numerous dot cancels with letters and indications of railway lines. Several routes are represented, including Bordeaux–Toulouse, Cherbourg–Paris, Paris–Cherbourg, Marseille–Lyon, Paris–Strasbourg and other lines. The lot also contains various special cancellations and multiple stamps with old notes from a collector. The handwritten identifications of the routes are not all verified. Interesting to collectors of French philately and postal history. The stamps have not been systematically checked for varieties, color nuances, or plate errors. View all the photos carefully to form your own opinion on the quality, centering, perforations, cancellations, and the overall condition of the stamps.
