France - Pennant - Collection of 6 Military Pennants – 94e RI

1. 94e Régiment d’Infanterie – Sissonne French military flag/pennant of the 94e Régiment d’Infanterie (94e RI), attached to Sissonne. The pennant shows on both sides the regimental emblem and the texts “94e Régiment d’Infanterie – Sissonne” and “On l’Engage pour Vaincre – La Garde.” Probably from the second half of the 20th century, around 1967–1993. Made in blue and white textile with gold fringe and wooden staffs. 2. 2e Régiment de Dragons – Laon/Couvron French military pennant of the 2e Régiment de Dragons (2e RD), with the text “2e Régiment de Dragons – Laon – Couvron” and an image of a tank. The reverse shows the emblem of the Condé Dragons with a black dragon. Probably from the second half of the 20th century. Made in white fabric with fringe and wooden staffs. 3. 4e BSMA – Réunion French military pennant of the 4e Bataillon du Service Militaire Adapté (4e BSMA) from La Réunion, from 1969–1976. The pennant bears the text “4e BSMA – Réunion” and shows the unit emblem with an anchor. Made in white satin-like fabric with gold fringe and wooden staff. The reverse is unprinted. With visible aging and signs of use, including small damages and holes. 4. 5e RIAOM – Djibouti French military pennant of the 5e Régiment Interarmes d’Outre-Mer (5e RIAOM), linked to Djibouti. The pennant bears the text “5e RIAOM – Les Caporaux Chefs – D-Jibouti” and the emblem with the number 5 and the motto “Fier et Fort.” Probably from the second half of the 20th century, from around 1970. Made in red and blue satin-like fabric with gold fringe. The reverse is unprinted. 5. 40e Régiment d’Artillerie – historisch vaantje French military pennant of the 40e Régiment d’Artillerie (40e RA), probably from the second half of the 20th century. The pennant shows the regimental emblem and lists on the reverse several major battlefields, including La Marne 1914, Champagne 1915, Verdun, La Somme, Reims 1918, Flandres 1940, Paris 1944 and Strasbourg 1944. On the front two metal clasps/brevet badges are attached. Made in red and blue textile with gold fringe. 6. 40e Régiment d’Artillerie – IFOR French military pennant of the 40e Régiment d’Artillerie (40e RA), with the regimental emblem. The pennant carries an IFOR badge, referring to the international peacekeeping force in Bosnia. This version dates approximately to 1995–1996, around France’s involvement within IFOR. Made in white satin-like fabric with gold fringe and metal staff.
