Francioni Mastromarino (1978) - San Leonardo da Vinci - foglia oro

Free shipping for this new work. In this batch we present the new sculpture “San Leonardo da Vinci,” a contemporary lay saint, symbol of creativity, curiosity, and genius. The sculpture invites reflection on human curiosity, challenging the rigid specializations imposed by modern society. This work was born for visionaries who share a pronounced curiosity about all human knowledge and a continuous anthropological and social study, as well as technical and material study: characteristics that accompanied Leonardo da Vinci’s life and that continue to define free-thinking minds unbound by preconceptions and imposed schemes. The sculpture up for auction is a limited edition piece, with only 12 units available: 8 numbered in Roman numerals and 4 in Arabic numerals. This version is gold-leaf covered; the series also includes variants in silver and copper leaf, as well as a unique piece with a halo. The new leaf patinas make the work not only artistic but also visually contemporary. Made with sustainable materials such as bio-malt and rice husk (a reuse material derived from grain processing), the work reduces environmental impact by using materials from industrial by-products. This is a hallmark feature of the artist duo Francioni Mastromarino: a sustainable art approach developed over years and not merely a contemporary trend. The artists have also created the largest senile portrait of Leonardo da Vinci in the world, which after participating in numerous international exhibitions is today a city monument in Pavia and a symbol of contemporary gigantism in Italian sculpture, standing 5 meters tall. This “San Leonardo” is one of the models derived from that monumental work. The works of Francioni Mastromarino are present in private collections in many countries, including the United States, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Luxembourg, Greece, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, and Bulgaria. Each sculpture is packaged with the utmost care and shipped by express courier, with safe and eco-friendly triple-wall cardboard packaging, suitable for both national and international shipments. For shipments outside the European Union, a certificate of libre exportation stamped by the Export Office of the Florence Fine Arts Superintendent is provided. Free pickup at the authors’ studio in Pietrasanta, Tuscany, is also available. Don’t miss the opportunity to add this unique and innovative piece to your collection: a fully Made in Italy work that celebrates Leonardo da Vinci’s legacy. Start bidding now.
