Suggestive manifesto dedicated to the FIS World Ski Championships held in Cortina d’Ampezzo in February 1941, during the XX year of the fascist era. Note well: This is a later edition probably from the 70s. The composition, created by the famous billboard designer Franz Lenart, features a skier unleashed in a spectacular descent, rendered through dynamic shapes, bold colors and a strongly modern perspective. At the bottom appear the Olympic rings and the flags of the participating nations, among which the Nazi German flag is also visible. A historically significant image, expression of Italian sport graphics and propaganda from the first half of the twentieth century. The work unites winter sports, alpine skiing, Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Dolomites, advertising graphics, the Ventennio and European history. At the bottom there are the printer’s indications “Grafiche I.G.A.P. Roma-Milano 1940-XIX” and the organization of the event. The poster shows folds, undulations and signs of time visible in the photographs, which constitute an integral part of the description. A decorative, high-impact specimen, particularly suitable for collectors of sports posters, the history of skiing, Italian graphic design and memorabilia linked to Cortina d’Ampezzo.
