Splendid antique oil lamp (student lamp style) with an egg-shaped lampshade made of precious Murano glass featuring millefiori work. This specific style of artistic glass and its egg/fungus shape indicate with certainty a production by the famous Murano glassworks Fratelli Toso, dating roughly to the 1900s-1920s. Fratelli Toso was one of Murano’s most prestigious glassworks, founded in 1854, renowned for its high-quality Millefiori creations. Objects like this antique lamp represent the pinnacle of Italian glass art and are considered collector’s pieces of great historical and artistic value, especially such a large lamp in silvered metal h 67 cm, with a splendid millefiori lampshade of 20 cm in diameter and a height of 16 cm. This type of lamp is very rare and highly sought after, complete with everything and functioning, probably unique of its kind!
