French Bronze with Seated Child. French School. 19th Century

Descriptio Patinated bronze on a marble base. Dimensions: 35 cm x 38 cm x 20 cm. A small sculpture depicting a reclining child, holding a cup in his right hand and crowned with vine leaves. The Bacchic-inspired theme combines innocence and sensuality in a serene and balanced composition. The craftsmanship of the modeling and the delicacy of the features reveal the refined taste of 19th-century French academicism. The contrast between the dark metal and the marble base reinforces its sculptural presence. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist.
