Title: The Fishing ㅤ School: European Impresionista School (19th century) ㅤ Style: Figurative Impressionism with genre scenes and nautical themes ㅤ Technique: Oil on canvas ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: The work is part of the European genre and marine painting tradition from the late 19th century, close to circles of naturalist and impressionist painters interested in representing the daily life of fishermen and coastal communities. The composition, the atmospheric treatment of the sea and sky, as well as the looser brushwork applied to the water, show the assimilation of resources typical of Naturalism and Impressionism. The attention given to the figures and to the fishing activity still preserves a marked narrative and realistic component characteristic of genre painting of the period. ㅤ The composition depicts a group of fishermen arriving at shore in a rowing boat. Several figures remain inside the boat while two men descend into the water to facilitate the disembarkation; one of them advances toward land carrying what appears to be part of the catch or the gear. The scene captures a daily moment of work linked to maritime life, adding dynamism through the different postures of the characters. ㅤ The palette is dominated by gray, bluish, ochre and whitish tones, creating a damp and slightly hazy atmosphere. The low horizon grants notable breadth to the sky, while the breaking waves around the boat are executed with loose, luminous brushstrokes that convey the motion of the water. The figures, more defined, constitute the main narrative and chromatic focus of the composition. ㅤ The work is presented with a narrow gold finish frame, of simple and linear design, which discreetly delineates the painting without diminishing the prominence of the scene depicted. ㅤ Notes: Due to its age, the work shows restorations, in addition to minor flaws and signs of conservation typical of the passage of time. ㅤ The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. ㅤ Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge for reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excessive dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover this surcharge. ㅤ The courier that must cross the Swiss border can be delayed much more than usual, so, if possible, to speed up the processing, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so that the client can unblock it and thus reach its destination. Experience has shown that this is the most effective solution for both parties. ㅤ Due to the high volume of shipments, it is possible that the order is delayed by more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions about your order, please contact us via internal messaging. ㅤ Size: 74 × 92 cm Size with frame: 75 × 94 cm
