A congratulatory note addressed to the wife of the actor and singer Jules Brasseur, on the occasion of an honorary distinction. “My warmest congratulations to the charming Academy officer, with my best regards to both of you.” Louis Ganne thus extends his compliments to Blanche-Marie Brasseur, wife of Jules Brasseur (1828–1890), the famous French actor and singer and founder of the Théâtre des Nouveautés. This correspondence attests to the composer’s connections with the Parisian theatrical and artistic circles of the Belle Époque.
