Gebroeders Van Paridon – Rare three-piece set Art Deco children's busts / bookends Maker: Gebroeders Van Paridon (Amsterdam) Designer: Antoine van Paridon Period: Circa 1920–1940 Style: Art Deco / Realism Provenance: Netherlands Material: Paridur (high-quality composite with a warm, bronze-colored wood patina) Description A unique and complete set of three vintage children's busts, designed and manufactured by the renowned Amsterdam atelier Gebroeders Van Paridon. Why this display is usually offered as a set of two is that this extended composition, featuring a larger boy, a larger girl, and a charming smaller child’s head, is an extremely rare sight. The sculptures are marked on the back of the plinth with the corresponding model numbers (including 240.V.V. and 241.AP). Thanks to the substantial weight of the large bookends (almost 4 kilograms together) and the charming smaller piece, this lot is decoratively and functionally excellent for a classical or eclectic interior. Note: The books depicted in the photos are for illustration only and are not included with this lot. Specifications Large busts (2 pieces): Height 16 cm, base dimensions 10 x 12 cm, total weight 3820 grams Small bust (1 piece): Height 12 cm, base dimensions 7 x 10 cm, weight 1080 grams Total weight of set: 4900 grams Condition The set is in good, authentic vintage condition with light, age-related signs that are appropriate for the age and material. View the extensive photo set for an excellent impression of the condition. Carefully packed and sent by registered/insured delivery.
