signed and dated 'G. C. STANFIELD/1868' l.l., oil on canvas, 112 x 89cm; framed 140.5 x 115.5cm, Sotheby's, London, 17 March 1999, lot 20. Condition Report, Condition Report, Craquelure. Faint stretcher marks. There appears to be some overpainting to the upper left edge and corner where there is a subtle difference in colour to the blue paint, however in our opinion the painting presents well overall when viewed on the wall. There is a little spotting to the reverse of the canvas however the front of the work does not appear to be affected. Not examined under UV light, for a full report please contact the department.
