Gerrit Willem Dijsselhof Zwollerkerspel 1866 – 1924 Overveen Dijsselhof remained throughout his life fascinated by one subject: the murky, weightless world beneath the water. The way Dijsselhof has managed to render this fairy-tale world is of great virtuosity. The greatest success, however, he achieved during his lifetime with his oil paintings, especially of underwater life. This beautiful work of fish in a grotto inside an aquarium is an example of that.
