Alle Auktionen / Sonstige / Giovanni March (1894-1974 ) - Still life
Painting by G. MARCH 70X50. Oil painting on canvas by Giovanni March, dated 1970. Signed bottom left Istrana and on the back. Beautiful work in perfect March style, rich in detail and features, balanced in form and color. It depicts a classic March still life from the 1970s of the 1900s, a still life with fruit and bottles. March in still lifes is distinguished by an approach that blends post-Macchiaioli tradition with European, particularly French, influences, matured during his stays in Paris. There are signs of craquelure which overall do not affect the quality or charm of the painting as visible in the photos, which should be considered an integral part of the description. Many of his works are housed or have passed through important Tuscan institutions such as the Museo Civico Giovanni Fattori in Livorno and the Carlo Pepi House-Museum. The frame in perfect condition and without glass is to be considered a GIFT. Dimensions including frame: 86x66 The painting will be shipped with careful packaging to prevent damage; we cannot be held responsible for damages caused during transport. We do not ship outside the EU.
