Goldscheider - E. Tell - Sculpture, 'Rückkehr vom Brunnen' - 40 cm - Ceramic

Phenomenal Art Nouveau earthenware sculpture titled 'Rückkehr vom Brunnen' designed by E. Tell for Goldscheider, Vienna. All of stillness and intense tension molded in ceramic that is beautifully glazed in pastel tones. The detailing is of high quality as seen in the refined face of the young woman who, slightly bent forward, is about to reach to pick up the jug standing beside her. A beautiful example of Jugendstil influenced by Symbolism. Execution ca. 1901/1902. Marked on the underside and signed on the side. Literature: Goldscheider, History of the company and catalogue of works, p. 367. Excellent condition. Will be sent by registered mail.
