Property of a Private Collector, Savannah, GA Description: Gorham Sterling Silver Loving Cup Given to Spencer Robinson, Glendale, California, the handles decorated with branches and grapevines, one side with Latin inscription 'virtute non verbis' and engraved to Spencer Robinson and signed below by his parents. The cup was presented to Spencer Robinson by his parents, Dean Tyler Robinson and Julia Spencer Robinson. Spencer Robinson was the first mayor of Glendale, California in 1921-1925. Julia was the daughter of Judge John W. Spencer who presided over the trial of three men who were hanged for the murder of Col. George Davenport in 1845 66.390 troy ounces.Measurements: Height: approx. 8 1/2 in. x Width: 10 in. Condition: Overall good condition, light wear and scratches, some dings on lower section.
