GREEK AGATE SCARAB ENGRAVED WITH A RUNNING STAG IN GOLD PENDANT

Ca. 400 - 300 BC. > An agate scarab with a plain convex back and a flat underside engraved with a running stag in profile to the left, its antlered head raised and legs extended in full stride. The scarab is fitted in a possibly later gold pendant mount formed from an arched rod with coiled wire bindings at either side of the stone.
