Alle Auktionen / Kunst und Drucke / Günther Uecker (1930) - Originale Zink-Klischee - Signiert - 1970 - gerahmt
Rare zinc etching by Günther Uecker from 1970. Bottom right signed in pencil Bottom left numbered. Created for the portfolio “Leibbeschreibung eines Nagels” published by Klaus Lüpke Galerie, Frankfurt am Main. About the work: The piece shows a heavily magnified, almost abstract nail structure in deep black on a light background. Through the extreme magnification, the familiar object loses its everyday function and transforms into an organically seeming, almost cosmic form. The portfolio “Leibbeschreibung eines Nagels” represents a radical graphical experiment within Uecker’s oeuvre. Uecker translated macro photographs of nail structures into a new visual language and, in an unusual way, engaged with one of his central artistic motifs: the nail. The nail has been one of the most important elements in Uecker’s work since the late 1950s. A zinc cliché (Zinc cliché) is a zinc relief print (a zincography with embossing). Framing: Professionally framed, in a custom-made white wooden frame with PLEXIGLAS Optical HC (scratch-proof and UV-protective). Framed approx. 48 × 48 cm. About the artist: Günther Uecker (1930–2025) is among the most important German artists of the postwar period and was a member of the international ZERO movement around Heinz Mack and Otto Piene since 1961. He became known especially for his nail reliefs, kinetic objects, installations, and works on paper. Light, movement, materiality, rhythm, and the change of perception are central themes of his extensive oeuvre.
