Hutchinson is a French company founded in 1853 in Châlette-sur-Loing, near Montargis, by Hiram Hutchinson, an American entrepreneur settled in France. He then exploited vulcanization techniques of rubber and began, notably, with rubber shoes and boots under the brand "À l’Aigle". The company would then greatly diversify its activities: industrial rubber, automotive, aeronautics, seals, hoses, anti‑vibration systems, etc. Hutchinson and cycling It is in 1890 that Hutchinson began manufacturing tires for bicycles. This activity would become extremely important for the brand.
