Offered here is a striking wearable silver coin amulet inspired by one of the most celebrated coin types of the Hellenistic world. This remarkable piece bears the iconic portrait of Herakles wearing the skin of the Nemean Lion on the obverse, while the reverse depicts Zeus enthroned, holding his eagle and royal sceptre beneath the legendary name of Alexander. These designs became the enduring symbol of the empire forged by Alexander III "the Great" and continued to be struck throughout the Hellenistic world long after his death. The obverse presents the youthful face of Herakles, the greatest hero of Greek mythology. Wearing the invincible lion skin won during his First Labour, Herakles embodied unmatched courage, endurance, and the triumph of strength over adversity. Throughout antiquity, this heroic image was closely associated with Alexander himself, expressing the king's claim to heroic ancestry and his aspiration to embody the virtues of the legendary conqueror. The reverse portrays Zeus, king of the Olympian gods, seated majestically upon his throne. In his outstretched hand rests the sacred eagle—the supreme emblem of divine authority—while the long sceptre signifies legitimate kingship and universal sovereignty. Together these images proclaim the ideals of victory, justice, wisdom, and divine protection that lay at the heart of Alexander's imperial vision. Carefully transformed into an elegant wearable pendant, this historic silver coin has been fitted with a discreet suspension ring and is presented together with a fine sterling silver chain, making it ready to wear or display immediately. The modern chain is a contemporary addition that beautifully complements the ancient coin while remaining fully removable, preserving the integrity and historic character of the original artifact. More than two millennia after it was first struck, this remarkable piece continues to convey the timeless ideals of bravery, leadership, perseverance, and immortal glory. It serves not only as a beautiful item of historical jewellery but also as a symbolic talisman representing courage, strength, divine protection, and the enduring legacy of one of history's greatest conquerors. A distinguished acquisition for collectors of Hellenistic history, ancient numismatics, classical mythology, or exceptional wearable antiquities. Condition: Ancient silver coin with attractive historical wear, clear artistic details and pleasing toning. Professionally mounted as a wearable pendant and supplied with an elegant sterling silver chain, ready to wear or present as a unique historical gift. The chain is modern, while the coin remains an authentic ancient artifact
