Signed and dated on the plate, hand-numbered HC ../50 at the bottom right Publisher’s dry stamp of authenticity at the bottom left. Edition by La Brugière, limited to 50 Not-for-sale copies, after Henri Matisse’s oeuvre. From an artisanal workshop, this proof is printed according to traditional methods, where each color is applied by hand, pass after pass. This deliberately slow rhythm, far from industrial productions, guarantees a standard of execution and a wealth of material that are immediately perceptible. This work revisits one of Henri Matisse’s most iconic compositions, where the apparent simplicity of the motif reveals an absolute mastery of form and color. The deep blue, signature of this series, imposes a presence that is both graphical and timeless.
