This elegant dressing object stands out for the exceptional richness of its decoration, entirely crafted in the Victorian taste: floral motifs, foliate scrolls, volutes and raised ornaments, realized using various traditional techniques of English goldsmithing. The back and the handle feature an especially abundant decoration obtained by repoussé, chasing, and engraving, giving the whole a remarkable relief and great decorative depth.
