Henry SOMM (1844-1907) Drawing The little Savoyard chimney sweep This drawing is by Henry Somm (pseudonym of François-Clément Sommier, 1844–1907), a French 19th-century illustrator, engraver and caricaturist close to the Impressionists. We can see his characteristic signature "Henry Somm" above the figure (on the right), as well as a handwritten dedication at the bottom right (“to my friend... Henry Somm”). The subject depicted is a little Savoyard chimney sweep carrying his brushes and a hedgehog-shaped chimney-sweeping tool, a motif very popular in 19th-century art and caricature.
