Herend Coppia di Tazzine con Piattino – Decori "Apponyi"...

Exclusive Pair of Herend Cups with Saucer – Iconic Decor "Apponyi" and "Rothschild Bird" – Hungary 60s/70s These splendid pieces in fine multicolored porcelain, hand-painted, come from the famous Hungarian manufactory Herend, founded in 1826. The lot offers two elegant cups accompanied by their respective saucers, expression of two of the brand's most historic, sought-after and iconic collections: 1. Cup and Saucer – Decor "Apponyi" (Chinese Bouquet Multicolor) • Characteristics: The model features a refined stylized floral motif with clear Asian inspiration painted at the center, surrounded by detailed geometric borders and delicate coordinated floral garlands. • History: Created originally in 1867 for Count Albert Apponyi, an important Hungarian politician and diplomat, this design has over time become one of the most classic and recognizable motifs of the manufactory. 2. Cup and Saucer – Decor "Rothschild Bird" • Characteristics: The decoration masterfully portrays a pair of songbirds perched on a leafy branch, enriched by the presence of multicolored butterflies and small insects skillfully scattered over the porcelain surface. • History and Details: Introduced around 1860 for the renowned Rothschild banking family, this design is linked to a famous legend: Baroness Rothschild misplaced a precious pearl necklace in her garden, only to find it days later hanging on a branch where two birds were playing. In testimony to this fascinating story, the painted branch painstakingly depicts the very small lost gold necklace. Technical Details and Conditions Both models are adorned with refined borders profiled in 24-karat gold and stand out for the typical embossed texture of porcelain, known as the "Osier" weaving technique, which faithfully and elegantly reproduces the wicker interlacing. The pieces are in excellent conservational condition, first quality and free of defects. On the base of each item is regularly affixed the blue factory stamp bearing the shield, the inscription "HEREND HUNGARY", "HANDPAINTED", accompanied by the model number and the initials of the master decorator. Depending on the mark, production is datable to the vintage period of the 60s/70s. Packaging and Shipping: We guarantee professional, careful, and generously sized packaging, made with high-quality protective materials to preserve the total integrity of the porcelain during transport. Timely and traceable shipping via express courier.
