A bit of history: "Winged horse and divine creature of Greek mythology, Pegasus caused a spring to gush forth with one kick of its hoof. Named Hippocrene it is located on Mount Helicon in Greece. The nine Muses, daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, goddess of memory, came there to drink. Pierre Marie's narrative flair is expressed through line and composition. His drawing is an allegory of the birth of an idea and tells this marvelous story. It features a Pegasus with radiant wings, Muses dancing in a can-can around in a joyful and fantastical setting, as earthly as it is comic." According to the Arfon edition art-square dictionary, it is considered rare and sought after (last photo). Brand new in its folds. Delivered in its original box.
