"In labore voluptas" - there is joy in work. This was the motto of Wiesbaden jeweller Carl Ernst, whose company has been one of Germany's most prestigious jewellery houses since it was founded in 1852. The ring presented here also comes from his workshop. Crafted from solid high-carat gold, the band ring widens upwards in an elegant curve. A natural cabochon-cut sapphire is set in the center of the ring, weighing an impressive 8.75 carats and captivating with its deep, velvety blue. The clear design of the ring allows the gemstone to fully unfold its effect and gives the piece of jewellery a calm, confident presence. We date the ring to the period shortly after the Second World War. It comes with a detailed certificate describing the materials used and their qualities. It is a high-quality piece of jewellery and a unique piece whose appeal lies in the quality of its materials as well as the simple beauty of its design. We discovered the ring in Aschaffenburg.
