Issued by the First National Bank of Hoboken (Charter# 1444) which records the lion's share of notes on this well-collected city that was surprisingly served by only two banks between 1865 and 1935, bidders are met here with a lightly handled $10 Plain Back issued during the 1920s. Here one may behold distinct originality complemented by distinct color and detail amplified by sharp signatures attributable to Cashier W.H. de Veer and President William W. Young which collectively make a numerical grade of "58" seem conservative in relative terms. To that end, this note is certainly an outlier among those recorded here and would undoubtedly make for the perfect piece to represent this bank that ultimately fell to liquidation in 1935.
