Holland Rail NS 2501 - NS diesel-electric locomotive - In almost new condition - In original packaging. Original version of one of the exceptions in the 2400 series: 2501 Rare version due to renumbering and upgrade with Philotrain set and Philotrain railing. Delivered: approx. 1992 The model features a Philotrain set with large number plates on the fronts and smaller oval number plates on the cabs. The 'bumpy' plastic handrails have been replaced by straight Philotrain metal handrails and step supports. That makes the loco look nicely 'neat'. A few buffers have realistic light minor impact damages. Display model, hardly played with, see photos of axles and wheels. Diesel-electric locomotive from the 2400 series in red-brown color scheme. Locomotives 2401-2422, upon delivery, were light blue and only from 1956 onward were red-brown. An exception in that series was this loco, which would originally have been delivered as 2416, but at delivery received the number 2501 - don’t ask me why - and left the factory in red-brown. The model is very nice, with a heavy metal frame and drive on all 4 axles. Because of the 4-axle drive and the weight, a lot can be attached for the locomotive to slip. Note: The two anti-slip bands have cracked due to drying out; the loco is over 30 years old, but they still fit around the wheels, as the loco is virtually unplayed - display model. (see the photos of the bogies) For operation on the model railway, the bands could be replaced for even greater tractive effort. Direct current, analog, with alternating 'reversed L signal' or two red dead-end signals, based on the direction of travel. The model has been tested and works perfectly.
