HONG KONG (SAR). Chartered Bank. 500 Dollars, 14.12.1959. P-67. KNB43b.

Amazing 1959 Hand Signed $500 in 55-EPQ HONG KONG (SAR). Chartered Bank. 500 Dollars, 14.12.1959. P-67. KNB43b. PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ. Black, green, and brown, classical male bust at left, watermark at right, two clear and neat hand-signed signatures at lower centre and right. The HIGHEST GRADE in the PMG population report for this Pick number and an impressive large-size note. This is an iconic type note in the Chartered Bank series spanning from 1934 to 1977. Hand-signed notes are always extremely popular with collectors, and this example in original About Uncirculated condition with EPQ status is simply stunning. Sharp colours, paper margin, virtually pristine paper, and just the lightest of folds result in this simply dazzling note, and we expect strong interest from high-end collectors. Just two numbers away from the one we sold in the same grade in December 2025 for $20,400 including the Buyer's Premium. Don't be surprised if that note rivals that number in this auction. Estimate: $10,000 - $15,000.
