Antique wooden plant stand / jardinière – tall plant stand with lower shelf – ca. 1900–1930 Atmospheric and characterful wooden plant stand, executed as a tall plant stand with an elegant slim base and a practical lower shelf. The table is made of solid wood with a warm dark brown patina. The simple yet refined design is characterized by the four slightly splayed legs, the square top plate and the lower shelf. Around the lower shelf the vertical spindles provide a beautiful decorative detail. This type of plant stand was commonly used at the end of the 19th century and in the early 20th century to present a lovely houseplant, jardinière, or decorative pot at eye level. Thanks to its slender form, the table takes up little floor space, while a plant or art object receives extra emphasis. The construction is nicely traditional and features visible wooden joints and round fittings, which enhances the authentic character. The natural wood grain is clearly visible and gives the piece a warm, well-loved appearance. In the photo the plant stand is combined with a large decorative pot and plant; these are for illustration purposes only and do not belong to the lot. These signs are in keeping with the age and contribute to the authentic character. Please view the photos carefully; they form an important part of the description. Dimensions Height 58 cm Top diameter 22.5–23 cm The photos give a clear impression of the quality and are part of the description. The plant is not part of the lot. The interior photos have been generated with AI and are intended solely to illustrate the object in a living environment.
