Hung Richard is a graduate of the Hanoi University of Fine Arts and a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association. An Ode to Vietnam Born in 1966 in Can Tho, in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Hung Richard is an artist whose work celebrates the visual richness and serenity of Vietnam. Deeply shaped by the lush landscapes of his homeland, he has developed a painterly technique that sensitively captures both daily life and the majesty of nature. His style is characterized by a vibrant use of color and an ability to infuse a poetic atmosphere into each subject. Whether depicting the gentle bustle of a historic street or the monumental quiet of the Vietnamese mountains, Hung Richard transforms familiar scenes into profoundly evocative compositions. His paintings reflect keen observation: he tenderly captures traditional architecture, the soul of houses nestled in generous nature; he dynamically portrays rural life, animal movement, and scenes from everyday life; he masters the play of light, whether in the golden reflections of late-day or the mystical glow of sunsets on marine landscapes. A prolific artist, Hung Richard continues to explore the timeless beauty of his country, inviting the viewer to peaceful contemplation through oils on canvas imbued with authenticity and emotion.
