Hyena - Bozo - Mali (No reserve price)

In African art, the Bozos are known for their pieces in vivid colors. A very beautiful example of a poly-chrome hyena animal mask. On the face you can see the speckling that imitates the animal's fur. Decorative, The Bozos are a people who to this day remain semi-nomadic, moving their dwellings according to the seasons and the water level, upstream or downstream of the river for some families. They often live on temporary islands created by the reeds, or even partly create them by drying the banks of a islet. Forced to settle during the reign of Cheikhou Amadou (1810-1844), they remain nomads and return to their thatched huts for a few months of fishing after the rainy season.
