Screen printing in 100 copies signed by hand, published by the D Milano studio in 1972. Iginio Balderi was born in 1934 in Pietrasanta (LU). After studying at the Liceo Artistico in Carrara, he continued his path at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, attending courses alongside Bobo Piccoli, Kengiro Azuma, Alik Cavaliere, and Giancarlo Sangregorio; here he graduated in 1959 as a pupil of Marino Marini. Subsequently he lived in Paris where he continued his academic studies at the École des beaux-arts; in 1962 he received a scholarship for the Academy of Art in Amsterdam and moved for six months to the Netherlands. Later, back in Milan, he began his artistic path, engaging with friends Giò Pomodoro, Mauro Staccioli, Enrico Castellani, In 1965 he participated in the Rome Quadriennale and the Middelheim Biennale in Antwerp. That same year he was selected by Beatrice Monti della Corte to exhibit at her Galleria dell’Ariete in Milan for a solo show curated by Gillo Dorfles, who would define his works as “abstract and organic at the same time.”
