This work clearly draws inspiration from the emotional and intimate compositions of Jean-Baptiste Greuze, particularly in the treatment of the face, the softness of the modeling, and the subtle expression of sentiment. Executed in pastel on paper, the composition stands out for its fine execution, harmonious color palette, and the luminous rendering of the skin tones contrasted with the drapery in soft blue hues.
