The feature highlights the animals of stage and television living in New York. Linda, the llama, is photographed on a return trip home after a television program at the ABC studios. Inge Morath (1923–2002) was an important Austro-American photojournalist and photographer, renowned for being the first woman to be admitted as a full member of the prestigious Magnum Photos agency in 1953. Initially a translator and polyglot editor, she turned to the practice of photography in the early 1950s under the influence and mentorship of Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson. A tireless traveler, her work is characterized by deep humanist reportage, poetically rich street scenes, and intimate portraits of celebrities across Europe, the Middle East, Russia, and China.
