Vintage maritime signal flag “D – Delta,” part of the International Code of Signals. The flag consists of three horizontal bands in yellow – dark blue – yellow. International maritime signal flags have been used since the 19th century and the current international system was introduced in 1901. The current rendition of the Delta flag dates from 1934. The letter D (Delta) means: “Keep clear of me; I am difficult to maneuver.” The flag was used by ships to warn other vessels to maintain a safe distance. dimensions 170 x 136 cm
