The map offers extraordinary detail of the era's topography, showing: Territories: Friuli (with Udine and Gorizia), eastern Veneto (Treviso, Padua, Rovigo) and the coast of Istria. Hydrography and toponymy: Minute detail of the courses of rivers (Piave, Tagliamento, Livenza, Brenta), the mountain ranges and the Venetian and Friulian lagoons. Toponyms emphasized: In the lower part the German inscription reads “Der Venetianische Meerbusen oder das Adriatische Meer” (The Gulf of Venice or the Adriatic Sea).
