Jan Mankes entered art history as the Netherlands’ most tranquil painter. The heliogravure was printed and published in 1927 by Jan Mankes’s wife A. Mankes-Zernike and R.N. Roland Holst. The heliogravure is in excellent condition and is supplied with a matching cream-colored passe-partout in the depicted sleek black wooden frame (see detail photo).
