Jan Mankes (1889-1920) - Twee muizen

Original heliogravure after the woodcut by Jan Mankes: “Two Mice” from 1916. The heliogravure is dated 1927. Image dimensions: 9.8 x 6.8 cm. Frame dimensions: 26.8 x 20.8 cm. Jan Mankes is remembered in art history as “Holland’s most tranquil painter.” The heliogravure was printed in 1927 and published by Jan Mankes’s wife A. Mankes-Zernike and R.N. Roland Holst. Publisher: J.A.A.M. Van Es - Wassenaar 1927. The heliogravure is in excellent condition and is supplied with a matching cream-colored mat in the shown black wooden frame (see detail photo).
