Alle Auktionen / Sonstige / Jean Paul Thévenot - Kitchen container (4) - Copper
Kitchen set (4 pieces) in hammered copper and brass - Jean-Paul Thévenot (M.O.F.) - France, 20th century Splendid and rare coordinated kitchen set consisting of 4 graduated containers in dinanderie (hand-hammered copper and brass), entirely crafted by the renowned French master craftsman Jean-Paul Thévenot. Each piece bears on the front the artisan's autograph signature, accompanied by the prestigious official mark "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" (M.O.F.), a title of excellence conferred on the highest exponents of French craftsmanship. The set stands out for exceptional build quality (total weight of about 1.6 kg) and for the elegant two-tone contrast: the central body is in warm patinated copper with a refined hand-hammered texture, while the bases, collars, upper knobs and the large ring handles of the main piece are made of solid brass. The graduated series comprises the following elements: Main large container with handles: Height 20.5 cm, Diameter 16 cm, Weight 930 g Large jar: Height 14 cm, Diameter 9 cm, Weight 268 g Medium jar: Height 12 cm, Diameter 8 cm, Weight 235 g Small jar: Height 10.5 cm, Diameter 7 cm, Weight 168 g The objects are presented in good original vintage condition. They show a beautiful patina of time, with traces of surface oxidation on the copper and on the inner brass lid, as well as small signs of wear consistent with their age. They do not have structural dents or deformations. The patina has not been deliberately removed to preserve the piece's authenticity and historicity, leaving the prospective buyer the choice whether to proceed with conservative polishing. A piece of high artisanal craftsmanship for collectors, perfect both as a decorative element for rustic and design kitchens and as an investment for collectors of author-made dinanderie. Fast shipping, professional packaging.
