The forms are the vocabulary Miró had made his own by the 1950s: heads, eyes, stars and stick-figures set loose on the page with a calligrapher’s freedom. The lithograph was printed on Arches wove paper and published in Paris by Maeght Éditeur in 1958, the year of Miró’s great ceramic walls for UNESCO. It is signed ‘Miró’ in pencil at the lower right and numbered ’52/100′ in pencil at the lower left. The sheet is in excellent, fresh condition, the paper bright and the impression strong.
