RIAA Gold Album award for the debut self-titled album from Jonathan Butler. Released on May 11, 1987, the album went Gold for 500,000 copies sold on Mar. 25, 1988.* The debut for the South African singer and guitarist featured the single "Lies", which went to #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #18 on the UK Singles Chart. A second single from the album was "Overflowing". The album reached #50 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #12 on the UK chart.
