Alle Auktionen / Zeitgenössische Kunst / Jonone (1963) - Time is now
Original screen print by JonOne, created in 2 color passes with ink enriched with real silver powder, on Keaykolour 250 g paper. Format 50 × 70 cm. Edition limited to only 60 copies, numbered and hand-signed by the artist. With Time is Now, JonOne offers a particularly intense graphic composition, built around a strong contrast between the deep black background and the silvery traces. His instinctive handwriting almost entirely invades the surface, mixing fast gestures, overlays and drips into an ensemble that is at once raw and perfectly controlled. The peculiarity of this edition lies in the use of an ink enriched with real silver powder. It brings luminosity and metallic reflections to the traces that evolve with the lighting and give the work a particularly strong presence. Originating from the New York graffiti scene, JonOne developed an immediately identifiable pictorial language, in which the letter forms and the signature gradually become abstraction. Time is Now fully illustrates this approach, with a dense and spontaneous composition that preserves the energy of graffiti. With its particularly limited edition of 60 copies, its 50 × 70 cm format, and the use of real silver powder, this screenprint constitutes a very beautiful edition of JonOne, as spectacular as it is representative of his artistic universe. Artwork in perfect condition, never framed, kept flat. We ensure meticulous packaging, international tracking, insurance, and express shipping for all our deliveries. The numbering may differ from the photos. Biography: JonOne (Franco-American, born in 1963 in New York), famous for works influenced by graffiti, is from the Harlem neighborhood, where the art of colorful and elaborate graffiti evolved. He began creating, with a childhood friend, graffiti of his name at the age of 17. In 1984, he founded the Graffiti 156 All Starz collective to unite graffiti artists' passion. After moving to Paris in 1987, he began working as a painter on canvas in a studio. He quickly made a name for himself in Parisian art circles thanks to his canvas works, was exhibited in 1990 at Gallery 45 in Berlin and participated in the Graffiti Paris exhibition, where his work is presented permanently. His works fetch among the highest auction prices in the graffiti world.
