Jordi Juan Pujol - Donald Duck in Blacksad “Amarillo”...

• Hand Signed by the Artist (front and back) • "Tribute to Blacksad" handwritten by the artist on the back • Unique Original Artwork • Certificate of Authenticity Included • Ready to Frame This original watercolour by Spanish artist Jordi Juan Pujol is a tribute to "Amarillo" (2013), the fifth volume of Blacksad, the acclaimed noir graphic novel series created by Juan Díaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido. The homage closes a meaningful circle: before drawing Blacksad, Guarnido worked as an animator at Disney's Paris studio. In this reinterpretation, Donald Duck takes the wheel of the iconic yellow Cadillac convertible from the story, driving along an endless highway between golden fields under a vast, luminous sky. The scene captures the road-movie atmosphere of Amarillo, with its sense of freedom, distance and 1950s America, while Donald's cheerful expression adds a warm touch of Disney humour. Painted in watercolour and ink, the composition is built on bright yellows and ochres, contrasted with soft blues and precise black linework. The chrome details of the Cadillac, from the grille to the bumpers and the script lettering on the side, are rendered with remarkable care, and the blurred asphalt gives the scene a real sense of speed. The work is hand signed on the front and on the back, where the artist has also written the inscription "Tribute to Blacksad". A piece of special interest for collectors of Disney art, European comic art and admirers of Blacksad. ▸ Watercolour and ink on paper ▸ Format: 42 x 30 cm (unframed) Jordi Juan Pujol is a Spanish illustrator known for bringing classic animated characters into unexpected settings drawn from comics, cinema, art and popular culture.
