Kiri Aguilera (1982) - Alma de Orquídea

Kiri Aguilera (1982) is a Cuban-born artist, currently based in Spain, whose work is distinguished by a sophisticated visual language where contemporary abstraction, poetic figuration, and gestural expressiveness converge. Trained in professional art schools, her career reveals a solid academic foundation manifested in mastery of drawing, composition and the spatial construction of the canvas. On this technical structure, the artist has developed a distinctive, deeply recognizable style, in which the line takes a leading role as an element of rhythm, tension and visual narrative. Her acrylic-on-canvas production, entirely handmade, stands out for a vibrant chromatic richness and for the presence of carefully balanced painterly layers. Color, far from merely ornamental, acts as an emotional vehicle that transforms each work into a sensory, high-impact experience. Within her thematic universe stand out female figures, floral compositions and the stylized representation of animals, elements that the artist reinterprets through a language that oscillates between abstract synthesis and suggested figuration. Her large-format works — typically over 100 cm — are conceived for spaces of strong aesthetic presence, creating a direct relationship with interior architecture and becoming authentic focal points within the environment. The delicacy of the stroke, the elegance of the lines and the intensity of the color contribute to each piece a contemporary, highly decorative visual identity, without losing conceptual depth or artistic value. The work of Kiri Aguilera is especially attractive to collectors and lovers of contemporary art who seek original pieces with strong visual presence, impeccable technique and a distinctive aesthetic. Each canvas conveys a refined sensibility, where gestural energy coexists with compositional harmony, generating works of great sophistication, ideal for private collections as well as for curatorial spaces and high-end interior design projects. This delicate acrylic painting on canvas is a figurative composition inspired by Fauvism and Cubism that transmits an atmosphere of introspective calm and organic harmony. The work presents a reclining female figure in profile with eyes closed, surrounded by stylized botanical elements, where the anatomy gradually decomposes into geometric blocks of color. The artist employs a planar, structured brushwork technique, articulating a rich palette of warm tones — such as solar yellow, ochre and terra cotta orange — in the body and clothing, which harmoniously contrast with the cool tones of mint green, turquoise and cobalt blue of the foliage and background. The fluid line of dark hair frames the serene face, achieving a piece of great visual lyricism, aesthetic elegance and an intimate connection with nature.
