Kodak Nieuws - Origineel 35mm filmfragment – Belgische Commando's / T.N.A

An original, physical 35mm film fragment on safety film is offered, with the edge inscription “GEVAERT BELGIUM – SAFETY”. In the film footage the designation “LA SEMAINE – LES ACTUALITÉS FRANÇAISES” is visible. The footage shows an official military ceremony with Belgian soldiers and a flag on which the historical mentions are clearly visible: ITALY – YUGOSLAVIA – WALCHEREN These mentions correspond to the historical combat mentions of the Belgian Commando Regiment. The footage is contextualized, based on its historical context, with the Belgian military presence and the first Congo trips of the T.N.A. Kamina (AP957) in 1953. The Kamina was used during this period for transporting Belgian para-commandos to Belgian Congo. Historical sources state that the Kamina departed Zeebrugge on 15 April 1953 for its first Congo trip with a detachment of Belgian para-commandos. Among those present at the ceremony were Prince Albert and other Belgian dignitaries. The naval officer visible in the footage is linked, in the historical context, to Commandant Johann Carl Otto Böting, who at that time was commander of the Kamina. Important: the identification of the event, persons, and the ship is based on historical context and comparison with available documentation. This description does not intend to constitute formal archival certification or forensic identification of each individual frame. Condition The film is in its original vintage state and shows normal aging and wear. The footage is still visible. The fragment has been stored rolled. It concerns an original physical film fragment, not a modern reproduction. The exact total length has not been determined; the film is offered as shown. Copyright / rights The sale concerns solely the physical, original film fragment that I own.
